Eighth Day of Ford’s Favorites – Wicked Pissah Oysters

On the Eighth Day of Ford’s Christmas, you’ll learn about the Wicked Pissah Oysters, which are harvested exclusively for Ford’s Fish Shack.

The Wicked Pissah oyster is one of the oyster varieties that are grown exclusively for Ford’s Fish Shack. We’re proud to work with local waterman and have forged a partnership with a number of suppliers in our region. Virginia is the largest producer of farm-raised oysters on the East Coast, providing eight regions of distinctive flavor.

One of our local partners is Brad Blymier of War Shore Oyster Company. I knew we wanted to work with a local farmer to cultivate a Virginia oyster that was exclusive to Ford’s Fish Shack and Brad helped to facilitate this. He did some research and made connections with local farmers in Chesapeake area of Virginia. Wicked Pissah Oysters are farmed raised and harvested on the Ware River at the mouth of Mobjack Bay (Lower Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, VA).

Flavor Profile
The Wicked Pissah Oyster has a perfectly balanced salinity with a mild, sweet finish. It’s lean and easy to enjoy. The meat fills the shell nicely, and is immersed in a subtle, sweet liquor.

Each correct answer via a Facebook comment on the post counts as one entry for the drawing. You must follow the Ford’s Fish Shack Facebook page, the Ford’s Wicked Catering Facebook page, and the Ford’s On The Road Facebook page to be eligible to win.
