For the Eleventh Day of Ford’s Christmas, we’re highlighting our Smoked Salmon Bruschetta. Read below to learn how Ford’s smokes salmon in house and what makes this dish special.

I created the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta recipe with different ingredients (like the tomatoes, balsamic reduction, basil, and goat cheese) that work well together to create a multi-flavor dish with different textures and temperatures to make it fun to eat.
What makes the dish so special is the house-cured and smoked salmon. Our culinary team fillets the salmon daily and we cure it simply using a little salt. Once it’s cured, we then hot smoke it for 45 minutes. We break it into four-ounce portions and serve with toasted ciabatta bread from a local bakery, Uptown Bakers.
For the finishing touch, I added a house-made remoulade sauce (a New Orleans version of tartar sauce) that complements the dish perfectly.
The Smoked Salmon Bruschetta is a fun dish to prepare and to enjoy because you’re actually creating the flavor combinations with each bite, so you get to choose which flavors to highlight. Maybe with the first bite, you take a little bite of tomato and a drizzle of the balsamic reduction with your salmon. You may create the next bite with some of the goat cheese and basil and so on.
